Kayleigh Hames joined the Pepperdine women’s volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach for the 2023 season.
Hames graduated from Pepperdine in 2023 after a strong four seasons with the blue and orange. While with the Waves, she served as an outside hitter early in her career before moving to the back row to compete as a defensive specialist.
Hames played in 47 matches, while starting in 16. She averaged 1.60 digs and 0.90 kills per set, while adding four double-doubles in kills and digs, six matches with double-figure kills and 10 with double-figure digs. She marked a career-high 14 kills twice, with the last being against Cal Baptist in September 2019. She also tabbed a career-best 14 digs on three occasions, most recently at Santa Clara in April 2021.
Hames earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention acclaim in 2020, was a four-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and a WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll ‘bronze’ honoree.

PEPPERDINE 2020: One of six Waves to play in all 81 sets of the 21 total matches, including nine starts … Amassed 0.48 kills and 1.49 digs per set throughout the season … Posted 289 total serve receptions with on 15 errors for a 0.948 reception percentage … Led the squad in aces twice and blocks once … Tabbed double-figure digs on four occasions … Had a season-best 14 digs, seven kills and three blocks at Santa Clara (4/3) … Had a season-high two aces against #6 Baylor (2/28). *The 2020 season was played in the Spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
