Ben Goldberg was hired as a women's tennis assistant coach in August 2024. He begins his first season in Malibu in 2024-25.
No stranger to Southern California, Goldberg comes to Pepperdine after spending the past eight years at UCLA as a student-athlete before joining the men’s tennis team’s coaching staff in 2021. During his three-year stint as an assistant on the men’s team, he helped coach several All-Pac-12 players, plus NCAA singles participants Alexander Hoogmartens and Govind Nanda, and 2024 Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year Spencer Johnson.
As a student-athlete, Goldberg helped the Bruins win three Pac-12 regular-season titles and one conference tournament title. Over the course of five seasons — which included an extra year of eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic — Goldberg amassed a 48-43 record in singles play and a 33-36 mark in doubles while moving up the lineup throughout his career.
In the classroom, he was a six-time member of the UCLA Athletic Director’s Honor Roll en route to earning his bachelor’s degree in political science.Â
