PEPPERDINE CAREER: Helped team to three NCAA Championship appearances with a runner-up finish in 2017 and 5th place finishes in 2016 and 2018 … Has gone 31-13 in dual action throughout three years with the Waves, including an 18-6 record from the No. 2 slot and a 13-7 record when playing in the No. 5 position.

PEPPERDINE 2018: Went 1-2 in her junior season, playing in the No. 5 position … Went 1-1 alongside Katie Gavin and 0-1 when playing with Nikki Lyons.  

PEPPERDINE 2017: Posted a 12-5 record in 2017 dual action from the No. 5 position … Went 7-1 when playing with Gigi Hernandez and 5-4 when playing with Sarah Seiber … Went 24-10 in sets and went 4-5 against nationally ranked opponents … At home, she averaged 6.20 kills/set, 1.40 blocks/set and 1.20 aces/set for the Waves (note: stats only available for home matches) … Helped squad to a NCAA Championship final appearance and runner-up status.

PEPPERDINE 2016: In her freshman campaign, was a mainstay in the number two position for the Waves alongside junior partner Delaney Knudsen … Amassed an 18-6 (.750) overall dual record from the number two spot … Earned an 8-5 record when playing opponents from nationally ranked squads … Had a six-match winning streak in the middle of the season, helping the Waves maintain a #1 national ranking in the AVCA Coaches Poll for six weeks … Helped the Waves earn a spot in the inaugural field of eight at the first-ever NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. … Helped lead the team to win the inaugural West Coast Conference Tournament Championship crown in Santa Monica, Calif. … Led the Waves to the first-ever WCC Championship title with two wins, first taking down Sascha Dominique and Kekai Whitford 16-21, 21-16, 15-11 in the 5-0 semifinal sweep over Wells Fargo PCH Cup rivals Loyola Marymount; and then defeating Mary Hernandez and Payton Rudd 21-11, 21-15 in the 5-0 final’s sweep over Saint Mary’s … Posted a win over Kamila Tan and Ivey Schmitt of #4 UCLA in the NCAA Championships with a 22-20, 21-19 victory.

USA VOLLEYBALL/CLUB: Member of the 2014 and 2015 USAV Beach U19 National Team … Member of the U17 squad the year before … With the U19 team, placed fifth at the USAV High Performanec Beach Championships, second at the AAU Beach Nationals, fifth at BVCA Beach Club Nationals and ninth at the Beach Junior Olympics in 2015 … Currently trains with Elite Beach Volleyball, under the coaching of beach volleyball legends Holly McPeak, Barbra Fontana and Eric Fonoimoana … Earned a AAA rating at age 15 after only picking up the sport the year before … At age 14, finished fifth in the 18s division at the Cal Cup … Followed that up with a 13th-place showing at the USAV U17 High Performance Championship … Also played indoor club volleyball for LAVA.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated Magna Cum-Laude from Villanova Preparatory in 2015 … Outside hitter for the Villanova indoor volleyball team and broke four school records on the court, including most kills in a game (33), most kills in a season (477), most aces in a season (123) and most career kills (851) … Garnered AVCA All-American High School Beach Honorable Mention status in 2015 … Earned All-CIF Southern Section first-team acclaim as a junior … Also awarded All-Ventura County second team and All-Frontier first team distinction in 2013 … Broke several indoor records including kills in a match (33), kills in a season (477), aces in a season (105) and kills in a career (851) … First set record for kills in a match as a sophomore with 32 … All-Frontier first team pick as a sophomore and a second-team All-Tri-Valley League performer as a freshman … Boasts a GPA of over 4.0 and an annual honor roll student … Earned the Academic Achievement Award in Physics in senior year and Academic Achievement Award in Pre-Calculus in junior year … Also lettered in swimming … Was an All-Tri-Valley League second team performer and broke three school records in the pool (50 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay) … Placed fifth at CIF-SS in 200 free relay and 12th in 50 free.

PERSONAL: Mother, Michele, was a swimmer at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo … Has one older brother, Austin, and a younger sister, Maddy … Uncle Mike Shaffer swam for UC Santa Barbara and was a finalist in the 200 butterfly at the 1988 Olympic Trials … Grandpa Frank Bailey played basketball for the Gauchos … Studying Sports Medicine at Pepperdine … She has climbed Mt. Whitney and Half-Dome twice and hiked most of the John Muir Trail … States she chose to attend Pepperdine because “it’s the best fit for me.  It has the best beach volleyball program and coaching staff, along with the perfect location (the beach).”
