In accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the Pepperdine Athletics Department, Pepperdine University's mission, and the NCAA SAAC's mission, the Waves Leadership Council (WLC) will strive to:

• develop character, maturity and leadership in student-athletes
• generate a student-athlete voice within the NCAA structure (with guidance from the compliance office)
• promote pride in the University among students, faculty, staff and patrons
• promote a positive student-athlete image on campus
• prepare students for meaningful and satisfying careers
• encourage students to become involved in neighborhood and community service activities
