Seven Pepperdine Athletics Programs Boast Perfect Multi-Year Academic Progress Rate Score

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine Athletics continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in the classroom as seven programs earned a perfect 1,000 Multi-Year Academic Progress Rate (APR) score with the University being above the national average in the NCAA's latest report.
Seven Pepperdine programs boast a perfect 1,000 multi-year APR, featuring women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, women's track and women's volleyball.
Overall, Pepperdine's all-sport APR average for 2024-25 was 987, mirroring last year's number while being above the national average of 986.
10 Pepperdine programs saw their APR come in above the national average for their respective sport, including men's cross country, men's track, water polo, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, women's track and women's volleyball.
Pepperdine soccer is the lone West Coast Conference program to boast a perfect APR, with women's cross country being one of two programs in the conference, while women's basketball is one of three in the WCC.
Each academic year, every Division I sports team's APR is calculated using a simple and consistent formula. Scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major and 1 point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term. A team's total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000. For schools that do not offer athletics scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
