SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Edward Winter has been named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, while his brother Hugh garnered All-Academic Honorable Mention, as announced today by the WCC.
Â
Edward continues to rightfully collect accolades, earning his third academic after having earned his sixth career All-Conference award yesterday. The sophomore previously collected WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2025 and WCC Commissioner's Roll (Bronze) in 2024. On the court, Edward has played the majority of his singles matches at the No. 1 position this season, most recently defeating 89th-ranked Lucca Liu from UC Santa Barbara in straight sets.
Â
Hugh Winter's All-Academic Honorable Mention is his first collegiate academic award. The sophomore, who is majoring in Sport Administration, dominated in singles this regular season, going 5-1 overall. Three of those five wins came in WCC action, most recently beating Tristan Messerli from LMU on Saturday to help the Waves clinch a share of the WCC regular season title. Hugh has also starred in doubles matches, winning a pair of WCC Doubles awards last season before winning 10 of 14 official doubles matches this season.
Â
The Waves will play the winner of the Santa Clara (3-seed) - Saint Mary's (6-seed) matchup on Friday at noon pacific time in the semifinal round of the WCC Tournament.
