"Pepperdine has a rich history with the islands," said head coach Marcio Sicoli. "Lots of great Waves have come from Hawaii over the years. It's great for our team to be making a return visit after a year away."
Last week the blue and orange wrapped up two days of action in the Battle 4 L.A. Things began with a sweep against CSUN, but the Waves then dropped three straight to the top-15 trio of USC, Long Beach State, and UCLA.
Emma Eden and Michaela Cyrani picked up wins on their court against the Matadors, as did Gabbie Perez and Maddy Snow, Emi Erickson and Ginevra Merlini, and the flight of Deanie Woodruff and Emma Bubelis.
First-year phenoms Sonia Mancuso and Alice Jagielska also earned a victory against their San Fernando foes in addition to being the only Waves pair to steal a point from the Beach.
The Seahawks and Pepperdine have only matched up once. A decade ago the Waves earned a sweep against the squad from Wilmington.
The Spartans have also only faced the blue and orange a lone time. San Jose State fell to the Waves 4-1 in 2022.
Concordia and the Waves have squared off ten times, with Pepperdine holding the advantage 8-2. The two schools will face each other twice more this season (both in Malibu, Calif.)
The Rainbow Wahine have five victories to the Waves' 12. Pepperdine started the series by winning nine of the first ten, but Hawai'i has since responded with two sweeps in a row.
Chaminade's Silverswords first met the Waves in 2024, who they proceeded to get swept by.
When Pepperdine returns home they will twice face Cal State Bakersfield and Hope International in the Malibu Invite, March 13 and 14.
