The Waves are coming off a 4-0 victory over No. 6 USC eight days ago (Feb. 22), the team's third victory of the season over a team ranked within the top-12 in the ITA team rankings.

Pepperdine moved into the top-ten in the rankings for the first time this season following the victory over the Trojans, coming in at No. 10.

The Waves swept the WCC weekly awards cycle the following Tuesday, marking the third time this season that the Waves have won all three awards. Alexia Harmon earned her first WCC Singles Player of the Week recognition, after going 2-0 against UCLA and USC. Harmon is now 4-2 during the dual match season splitting time between the fourth and fifth position for the Waves.

Duru Söke and Shihomi Leong earned WCC Doubles Team of the Week after a 2-0 mark as well, marking the first award win for the duo. Söke and Leong are now 3-1 in doubles this season. Söke has come on strong for the Waves in singles as well, tabbing a 3-0 record this season.

Zhiyenbayeva has led the Waves in singles wins this season while also winning three doubles matches to this point alongside Harmon and Živa Falkner. Zhiyenbayeva and Falkner are currently ranked No. 48 in the ITA doubles rankings.

Falkner has contested the No. 1 position for the Waves throughout the season and holds a 3-3 record with a 2-1 mark against nationally ranked opponents. Falkner came in at No. 57 in the most recent ITA singles rankings while Anastasiia Grechkina is currently ranked No. 8 for the Waves.
