Edward Winter Earns WCC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

MALIBU, Calif. - The No. 24 Pepperdine men's tennis team claimed another West Coast Conference (WCC) Weekly Award, as Edward Winter earned Singles Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the WCC this afternoon.
 
Winter has impressed all season long and that continued at No. 21 USC last Friday, earning a straight-set singles win for the Waves at the No. 1 position, tallying Pepperdine's first point of the match. He took down the Trojans' Branko Djuric in a pair of sets (6-2, 7-5), which also marked his team-leading fifth singles victory of the dual match season.
 
West Coast Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 10)
Singles – Edward Winter, Jr., Pepperdine
Doubles - Darius Tamaddon, Sr. and Cesar Cruz, So., LMU
Freshman - Sam Simmonds, Fr., Saint Mary's
 
The Waves are back on the court next Friday, February 27 at No. 12 Columbia.

Pepperdine men's tennis has a longstanding tradition of success, highlighted by an NCAA Championship in 2006 which came 54 years after its first NAIA Championship in 1952.
