CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Pepperdine women's golf freshmen
Grace Anderson and
Eunseo Choi were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, as announced Friday by the WGCA.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Anderson, a native of Burlington, Ontario, achieved a 3.573 GPA in her first year at Pepperdine as a pre-business administration major. Anderson was also one of the top golfers in the WCC as a freshman, finishing in eighth at the WCC Championships with a 4-over total through the tournament. She also logged a pair of top-20 finishes during the regular season at both the Alice & John Women's Classic and Bruin Wave Invitational.
Choi, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, posted a 3.757 GPA during her freshman year as a sustainability major. Choi asserted herself on the course as well, tabbing an individual win at the Silicon Valley Showcase with an impressive 5-under score for the tournament to help the Waves take home the team title. She finished in the top-10 at both the NCAA Lexington Regional and the WCC Championships while landing in 20th at the Bruin Wave Invitational. Her 6-under 66 in the second round of the NCAA Regional marked a new program-best for an individual round at an NCAA Regional.Â
"We are very proud of Grace and Eunseo for their excellent GPA while balancing classes and tournaments," said head coach
Laurie Gibbs. "Pepperdine student-athletes faced added challenges in the 2025-26 season with the December and January fires. The university community provided incredible support for everyone to finish the academic year strong."
The duo helped the Waves reach their 26th consecutive NCAA regional appearance in 2025 while finishing the campaign with a final national ranking of No. 41. Pepperdine will start the 2025-26 season at the Annika intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, September 8-10.
