SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Five members of the Pepperdine beach volleyball team earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors this season.

Kate Clermont and
McKenna Thomas earned first team acclaim, while
Emma Bubelis,
Emi Erickson and
Madison Oriskovich received an honorable mention nod.

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or important reserve that has competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's contests, and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.

Clermont (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) has earned a 3.853 GPA while studying liberal arts for education and has now made the WCC All-Academic first team three times. Clermont has earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Honors the last three years, having earned 'Gold' honors last year and 'Silver' honors the prior two years. She is also a three-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete. On the sand this year, Clermont has posted a 21-9 record alongside Thomas on court one. Additionally, she is two-time All-WCC first team award winner, was on the WCC All-Freshman Team in 2022 and earned an AVCA Top Flight award in 2023.

Thomas (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) is pursuing a Master of Science in business, has collected a 4.0 GPA and has now earned WCC All-Academic first team status three times. She's a three-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and a three-time WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Gold' Honors recipient. This season, Thomas holds a 21-9 record alongside Clermont in slot No. 1. She is a two-time All-WCC first team award winner, was the WCC Co-Freshman of the Year in 2022, was a member of the WCC All-Freshman team in 2022 and received an AVCA Top Flight award in 2022.

Clermont and Thomas earned the WCC Pair of the Week on March 17 after going 3-0, clinching two of the three duels for the Waves and both earning their 75th career individual win at the Malibu Invite.

Bubelis (Northbrook, Ill.) is majoring in psychology and has earned a 3.462 GPA thus far. Bubelis earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Bronze' Honors and was a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete last season. This year, Bubelis has collected 11 wins, including five alongside
Marley Johnson in position No. 5.

Erickson (Honolulu, Hawai'i) has a cumulative GPA of 3.421 in business administration and earned WCC All-Academic status for the second consecutive year. Erickson received WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Bronze' Honors and was a Pepperdine Scholar Athlete in 2023 and 2024. This season, Erickson has tallied 16 wins, with 12 coming alongside
Deanie Woodruff on courts four and five.

Oriskovich (Santa Barbara, Calif.) is majoring in advertising and has a current GPA of 3.358. She's a three-time WCC All-Academic honoree, a three-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and has received WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Bronze' Honors each of the last three years. This season, Oriskovich has 19 total wins in slot No. 2, including 17 alongside
Gabriella Perez. Oriskovich made All WCC first team in 2024 and the All-WCC second team in 2023.

Pepperdine currently holds a 17-13 record and will compete in the WCC Tournament in Santa Monica this weekend. The Waves are the No. 2 seed and will face the 7th-seeded Pacific Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday in the opening round.
