MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine Athletics Department honored student-athletes on Sunday night with a ceremony and its annual awards.
The "Pepp ESPYS" invited student-athletes from all 17 sports to take part in an entertaining evening show over the evening. Family, faculty, and coaches attended the Firestone Fieldhouse to show recognition to select Waves and their achievements over the past year.
Women's swimming and diving member Lexie Martin was named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Thomas Lewer from men's cross country/track was the men's honoree.
The Pepperdine Waves Leadership Council (awarding the Wave of the Year Award) recognized Linus Carlsson Halldin of men's tennis and Savanna Broadus of women's tennis for their commitment to the community and embodiment of university ideals.
Caroline Coleman of the women's soccer team took home the Maurice Hilliard Award. This honor goes to student-athletes who embody the teachings of the Christian faith, leadership, and character. It is named in memory of Pepperdine's late athletics chaplain.
The additional awards were voted on by student-athletes, coaches, and staff. This marks the eleventh year that many of these honors have been awarded. Voters are instructed to consider what athletes did on the playing field within the last twelve months of competition.

Best Moment of the Year (Men's Team): Men's Basketball's Cinderella run during the 2025 West Coast Conference Tournament
Best Moment of the Year (Women's Team): Women's Swimming and Diving winning the 2024-25 MPSF title
Female Wave of the Year: Savanna Broadus, women's tennis
Male Wave of the Year: Linus Carlsson Halldin, men's tennis
Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Lexie Martin, women's swimming and diving
