CONCORDIA RECAP
After losing to the Golden Eagles in the previous two meetings this year, the Waves came into Friday's matchup looking for revenge. Oriskovich and Perez got things going and put Pepperdine up 1-0 with a 25-23, 21-19 win on court two. Over in position No. 4, Erickson and Woodruff collected their second victory of the day to make it a 2-0 advantage for the Waves, winning in three-sets (21-19, 12-21, 16-14).
The Golden Eagles came out swinging in the second flight and got on the board with a 21-11, 21-15 win on court five, and had a one set lead in position No. 1.
After losing their first set 19-21, Clermont and Thomas grinded out a 21-19 win of their own in the second to force an all-deciding third. In the final set, the Waves duo found themselves down 7-10, but found a way to win nine out of the next 13 points to come back and win the set 16-14 and clinch the duel for Pepperdine.
Eden and Foti won their first set 21-19 in position No. 3, but were forced to play a third after falling 18-21 in the second. Regaining their composure, the Waves duo cruised to a 15-9 win in the third to make the final score 4-1 in the Waves' favor.
