OCALA, Fla. – The Pepperdine swim & dive program wrapped up its 2024-25 season at the National Invitational Championship at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training Facility today.
As the lone swimmer for the Waves on Saturday, senior
Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va.) qualified for another final at the NIC after breaking her own school record with a time of 56.50 in the 100 IM prelims. Then in the finals, Browne came within .02 seconds of beating her prelim time as she clocked a 56.51 to finish her Waves career, which gave her an 18th place finish.
In February, Pepperdine won its third conference championship in four years as the Waves came out on top at the 2025 MPSF Championships in St. George, Utah. In total, Pepperdine set five new school records, won five MPSF event championships and had 43 top-8 individual performances en route to the title.

QUOTABLES
"I'm very proud of the group that we took to nationals this week," head coach
Ellie Monobe said. "I'm impressed with how they carried themselves and seeing their enthusiasm and commitment to the process with what we're doing in our program is awesome. I want to give a huge congratulations to
Alexandra Browne. It's no surprise that she had to go out on a school record. She continues to impress me with her athletic ability, leadership and how she's carried herself throughout her entire career. She's set the standard for the future of our program with her years of development, commitment to the process and buy-in to the coaches. She's been a huge staple to our sprint group and will be sorely missed. As a leader and a human being she elevates everyone around her, and that's what's so unique about Alexandra. It's been an honor to have been a part of her journey and I am so incredibly proud of everything that she's done for the Waves. Overall, this group of swimmers should be incredibly proud of how they represented Pepperdine this weekend because us coaches and staff are incredibly proud of how they handled the last few days."
