
Nominations for the 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Class Now Underway

MALIBU - Pepperdine Athletics is pleased to announce the return of the Athletics Hall of Fame. The nomination period for the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025 is now underway and Waves fans are encouraged to lend their voices to the selection process. A ceremony to honor Hall of Fame inductees is currently being planned for October 2025 as part of the Waves Weekend festivities

Fans can nominate their favorite Waves provided that they meet the eligibility requirements that can be found here. The nomination period will close on March 28th, with the announcement of the Class of '25 set for later this spring in advance of Waves Weekend 2025 in October.Â

Founded in 1980 by the Pepperdine Athletics Board, the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame currently honors 131 individuals who make up an impressive list of administrators, coaches, and student-athletes who have made a significant mark on the history of the athletic program. Additionally, 14 teams have been enshrined to date, along with a distinguished list of eight Special Achievement Award recipients.

As set forth by the Pepperdine Athletics Board, the criteria for induction states that to be eligible, a candidate "Must have competed, coached for, or rendered extraordinary service to Pepperdine University Athletics. Nominations may be made in any of the following categories."

(1) Former Students - Athletic Achievement
A former student-athlete is eligible for nomination a minimum of five years following the graduation of his or her class. To be considered, a student-athlete must have achieved at least one of the following: National Player of the Year, NCAA Champion- as an Individual or in a Team sport, All-America Team selection, All-Region, Conference Player of the Year, All-Conference, All-Academic American, U.S. Olympic/National Team member.

(2) Former Students - Professional Achievement
A former student-athlete is eligible for nomination a minimum of five years following the graduation of his or her class. To be considered, a former student must have brought recognition to Pepperdine University by distinguishing themselves in professional fields other than and including professional athletics.

(3) Coach or Administrator
A coach or administrator is eligible for a minimum of five years following his or her tenure with the University, or in the case of active personnel, having reached the age of 60. The individual must have served the athletic program in some capacity for a minimum of five years.

(4) Distinguished Service
Special recognition for distinguished service may be given for exceptional contributions and service to the athletic program at Pepperdine University.

(5) Athletic Team
Entire teams may be inducted based upon the winning of a National Championship.
Â
(6) Posthumous Award
Nominations and induction may be posthumously awarded.
