HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Pepperdine Beach Volleyball will send sophomore Emma Eden and freshman Maddy Snow to the AVCA Beach Volleyball National Championship Tournament this weekend. The duo will compete across three days of play beginning on Friday, Nov. 7. Play starts at 6 a.m. PST on each day.
The two Waves punched their ticket to the prestigious tournament last weekend in Huntington Beach, Calif. They will travel to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. to compete against a field of 63 other pairs.
On day one Pepperdine (33) will begin by taking on two athletes from 32nd-seeded Florida International. If successful they will then face the winner of Cal Poly-A (1) and UT Martin-B (64). The rules of the tournament dictate that each match is best two out of three.
The Waves are no stranger to the AVCA circuit. The team won national championships in both 2012 and 2014.
Streaming begins on Saturday for the round of 16, with matches streamed on the AVCA YouTube channel here. ESPN+ will carry the quarter-finals and everything following, with a link soon to be available on the AVCA website. The full broadcast schedule can be found here.
Emma Eden is the reigning WCC Freshman of the Year—having won during the spring 2025 season. Her inaugural campaign also saw her named to the conference's first team and all-freshman team.
Maddy Snow is in her first year with Pepperdine. The freshman out of Temecula Valley High School in Temecula, Calif. enjoyed a decorated indoor career that consisted of team MVP honors in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Last year she earned a nod to the first-team all-CIF Southern Section Open Division.
