MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine women's tennis sophomores
Alexia Harmon &
Anastasiia Grechkina are set for competition at ITA Conference Masters beginning Thursday from Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego. Harmon will contest in the singles draw while pairing with Grechkina in the doubles draw.
The tournament sees each NCAA automatic qualification eligible Division I conference send one singles player and one doubles team from each gender to participate in the event. Overall, four singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists) and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).

Grechkina has already qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship after earning the singles title at ITA Southwest Regionals. She will compete for a doubles berth in Orlando with Harmon as Harmon also looks to punch her ticket in singles. The Waves' duo are the lone representatives from the West Coast Conference in the tournament.
Harmon will begin with her round of 32 singles match Thursday at 9 a.m. against Oakland's Martyna Piechowicz, who is representing the Horizon League. The winner will move on to the round of 16 with the match set for 1 p.m. Thursday.
Later in the day, Harmon and Grechkina will open their doubles run at 4 p.m. versus Furman's Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren, representing the Southern Conference (SoCon). The winner will advance to a round of 16 matchup on Friday slated for 12:30 p.m.
The singles and doubles draws will each see the quarterfinals contested on Friday, with semifinal matches set for Saturday and both finals, including the third-place doubles match on Sunday.

Pepperdine women's tennis has been a consistent powerhouse in the collegiate scene, reaching 40 NCAA Tournaments since 1982 including 28 straight appearances. Since 2018, the program has seen three national runner-ups between both singles and doubles while reaching an NCAA Regional as a team eight times in the past nine tournaments. The success at the conference level has been paramount with 33 WCC Championships including an active streak of 11 consecutive conference titles. With its 24 total All-Americans, the program has also consistently sent players to the pro circuit following their time in Malibu.
