MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors, while three members of the squad earned individual academic awards, as announced by the ITA on Monday.
To earn the ITA's individual award, players must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the 2023-24 academic year. Teams must have a 3.2 grade point average or higher to earn ITA All-Academic Team status.
Nikki Redelijk, Anna Campana and Vivian Yang earned ITA All-Academic individual honors, while the team maintained a 3.49 grade point average during the 2023-24 season to earn ITA All-Academic Team honors. Pepperdine was one of 225 Division I teams and one of eight West Coast Conference squads to earn the ITA All-Academic Team award.
This award is the latest of many academic awards for the Pepperdine women's tennis team. Highlighting the team's academic endeavors, Redelijk earned the prestigious WCC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award earlier this summer, becoming just the second Pepperdine women's tennis player and the 11th Wave ever to earn that award. Earlier this season, Redelijk and Campana made the CSC Academic All-District team; Redelijk, Campana and Savannah Broadus earned WCC's All-Academic awards; and six members made the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
This past season, the Waves posted a 21-7 record, made the program's second-ever NCAA semifinal appearance and saw Broadus and
Janice Tjen make history as the first Pepperdine women's doubles team to play in the national final.
