Five Pepperdine Women's Tennis Players Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards

MALIBU, Calif. — Five members of the Pepperdine women's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athletes, plus the team was named an ITA All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization on Monday.
Players with a 3.5 grade point average or higher and teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above qualified for the awards.
Pepperdine's individual awardwinners were Savannah Broadus, Anna Campana, Carolyn Campana, Nikki Redelijk and Lisa Zaar.
The Waves are coming off a 20-4 season in which they not only made their third-straight Super Regional appearance, but also saw Broadus and Janice Tjen earn All-American honors. Pepperdine has won the last nine West Coast Conference Tournament titles and all 11 WCC regular-season titles.
