#4 Waves Host Gonzaga This Weekend

MALIBU, California – The #4 Pepperdine women's tennis program returns home for the first time in over two weeks, playing host to Gonzaga in a West Coast Conference matchup on Saturday.

Attendance is free to each home match at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center this spring.

SERIES HISTORY
Pepperdine is a perfect 22-0 against Gonzaga all-time, winning eight of those matches in Malibu. Pepperdine has only surrendered two points to the Zags since 2003.

SCOUTING THE WAVES
Pepperdine took care of business on the road last weekend, sweeping both Pacific and Saint Mary's by scores of 4-0. Nikki Redelijk was the lone Wave to win singles matches on both days, earning her WCC singles player of the week honors. #30 Lisa Zaar, #10 Janice Tjen, #14 Savannah Broadus and Anna Campana also claimed singles victories. Broadus leads the Waves with a 12-0 dual singles record while she and Tjen, ranked first by the ITA in the doubles rankings, are 12-2 in the dual season as a doubles pair. Zaar and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat are ranked 29th by the ITA in doubles.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Gonzaga swept both of its WCC matches last week, taking down Santa Clara and San Francisco by identical scores of 4-0. The Zags are just 3-6 on the road, grabbing road wins over Georgia State, Southeastern Louisiana and Tulane. No Bulldogs are ranked by the ITA in singles or doubles.
