De Jonge Claims Weekly WCC Honor

MALIBU, California – After a perfect 3-0 week, #63 Daniel De Jonge of the Pepperdine men's tennis program has been named the West Coast Conference singles player of the week as announced by the league on Tuesday.

De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) won all three of his matches last week, including two three-set wins at Washington and Portland, to help the Waves defeat the Huskies, Pilots and Gonzaga. The graduate student is 9-7 this dual season playing from the first and second spots in the lineup. He has won his last five decisions.

This is the seventh career weekly honor in singles for De Jonge.

Pepperdine returns home to face #30 San Diego on Friday, April 14th at 2 p.m. Pepperdine tennis trucker hats will be given to the first 75 fans, while free Chick-fil-A will be offered to current Pepperdine students with a valid ID.
