Waves Through Day One at NIC

ELKHART, Ind. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program wrapped up the first of three days at the National Invitational Championships on Thursday at the Beacon Health Aquatic Center.

Pepperdine competed in seven events on Thursday: the 50 free, 50 breast, 50 back, 50 fly, 500 free, 400 medley relay and 200 free relay. The Waves also competed in time trials Thursday morning.

In the 50 back, Kylie Taylor (Eugene, Ore./Churchill HS) narrowly missed the top 20 to advance to the finals with a 24th-place finish. She had the Waves' best showing on the day, recording a 25.92 time – a personal best and the fastest 50 back split in the Ellie Monobe era.

In the finals session Thursday night, the 200 free relay foursome of Anna Ryan (Alamo, Calif./Monte Vista HS), Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va./Washington-Liberty HS), Jenna Sanchez (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley HS) and Taylor came in 27th place with a time of 1:34.38.
