LA JOLLA, California – The Pepperdine men's tennis program had a successful weekend of competition in the San Diego area, sending two doubles pairs to the quarterfinals and one to the semifinals at the annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championship at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.

Daniel De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) and
Tim Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany) were the overall #2 seed in the tournament and used that to their advantage, winning four matches en route to a semifinal appearance.
Maxi Homberg (Freising, Germany) and
Eero Vasa (Turku, Finland) also earned a first-round bye and won three matches before falling in Saturday's quarterfinals.
Four of the five Pepperdine doubles duos advanced to the round of 32, making up 1/8th of the round of 32 field.
Robert Shelton (Lancaster, Penn.) competed with Pierre Boulanger from UC Santa Barbara all weekend, and the pair made a run to the finals of the consolation bracket.
Throughout the weekend, the Waves had a cumulative doubles record of 14-6.
