SERIES HISTORY
Pepperdine is 22-1 all-time against Pacific. The Waves have only visited Stockton four times, with the last trip coming in 2021. Pepperdine has not surrendered a point to Pacific since 2015, earning five consecutive shutouts since then.
Pepperdine has won 24 of 28 matches all-time against Saint Mary's and is 5-2 in Moraga. The Waves have won the last nine meetings with the Gaels.
SCOUTING THE WAVES
Pepperdine added two more ranked wins to its resume last weekend, defeating #21 Oklahoma 4-2 before sweeping #52 LMU 7-0 in the Waves' West Coast Conference opener. #17
Savannah Broadus continued her impressive spring, rolling through two more straight-set wins. She has yet to play a third set in the dual season, holds a perfect 11-0 dual singles record and has only been pushed to 7-5 in two sets this spring. #1 Broadus and
Janice Tjen were named the WCC doubles team of the week after adding two top-30 wins to their ledger over the weekend. Tjen is ranked 13th in singles by the ITA, while
Lisa Zaar is ranked 29th in singles. Zaar and
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat are 40th in the ITA doubles rankings.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Pacific has been trading off wins and losses for most of the season. The Tigers split their opening weekend of WCC play, falling 4-3 to San Francisco on the road before rebounding to defeat Santa Clara 4-1. Karina Chao is a perfect 10-0 this dual season playing from the third and fourth positions, while Klara Kosan is 6-3 exclusively from the top line.
Saint Mary's has also been hovering around .500 for most of the dual season, stringing together back-to-back wins only once. They also went 1-1 in the first weekend of WCC action, sweeping Santa Clara 4-0 before falling to San Francisco 4-2. The Gaels are a perfect 3-0 at home this season.
