Broadus and Tjen Honored as WCC Doubles Team of the Week

MALIBU, California – For the sixth time this season, Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen of the #3 Pepperdine women's tennis program were recognized as the West Coast Conference doubles team of the week as announced by the league on Tuesday.

The top-ranked doubles team in the country, Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) were victorious over a pair of top-30 opponents from Oklahoma and LMU to help the Waves win two ranked matchups over the weekend. On Friday, they defeated #16 Carmen and Ivana Corley of Oklahoma 6-4 before beating LMU's #27 Veronica Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek 6-3 on Sunday. The 2022 NCAA Doubles Championship semifinalists are now 11-1 together this dual season.

This is the eighth career weekly WCC award for Broadus and Tjen dating back to last year. This season, the Waves swept the weekly conference awards on January 15, February 14, February 28, March 7 and March 14.

Pepperdine will be back in action on Friday, March 31 at Pacific. First serve is scheduled for noon.
