Women's Swim and Dive Set to Defend PCSC Title This Week

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program competes in its biggest meet of the season starting on Wednesday, heading to nearby Monterey Park looking to defend its 2022 team title at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships.

Meet 16: Wednesday through Saturday (February 8-11) at Swim Stadium in Monterey Park, California: Pepperdine at PCSC Championships

COVERAGE: The meet, hosted by East Los Angeles College, will be streamed live on Vimeo. Links to live video for each day, as well as the Tournament Central page, can be found on PepperdineWaves.com.

On January 28 in the Waves' final home and dual meet of the season, Pepperdine came out on top of PCSC rival Azusa Pacific, defeating the Cougars 185.50-114.50. The Waves won 11 overall events – and nine individual events by eight different athletes – to cruise to the victory.

Last year at the PCSC Championships, Pepperdine broke through to win its first team championship after three consecutive runner-up finishes. The Waves won three event titles (100 back, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay) and broke five school records. Head coach Ellie Monobe was named the Coach of the Meet for the second time after also winning that award in 2021.

Based on times and event titles at the PCSC Championships, a select number of Waves will qualify for the National Invitational Championships in Elkhart, Indiana from March 9-11. Information on that meet will be released when available.
