AUSTIN, Texas – The Pepperdine men's tennis program won the doubles point and took three first sets in singles from the #7 team in the country, but ultimately ran out of gas and fell to Texas 5-2 at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday evening.
Â
Pepperdine (1-5) started doubles with a bang, as the #38 duo of Daniel De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) and Tim Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany) took down #4 Harper and Spizzirri on the top court, 6-3. Before court two could finish, Pietro Fellin (Milan, Italy) and Eric Hadigian (Sacramento, Calif.) secured the crucial doubles point for the Waves with a 6-4 win on court three to give Pepperdine momentum heading into singles.
