Men's Tennis Ranked #20 in Preseason Coaches Poll

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's tennis team begins the season ranked #20 in the country after the ITA preseason top 25 coaches' poll was revealed on Wednesday morning.

This is Pepperdine's fifth time ranked inside the preseason top 25 coaches poll since 2013. Last spring, the Waves came in at #22.

In the most recent edition of the ITA player rankings, Pepperdine saw two players represented in singles: graduate student Daniel De Jonge (#31) and graduate student Tim Zeitvogel (#94). Both players are ranked as a doubles duo, coming in at #34 after a terrific fall that saw them advance to the ITA National Fall Championships following a runner-up finish at the ITA Southwest Regional.

Pepperdine begins the season with a road test at UCLA on Saturday, January 21 at 1 p.m. The home opener is Sunday, February 19 at 2 p.m. against UC Santa Barbara. The Waves will compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend on January 29-30, traveling to #12 Stanford along with #23 Texas A&M and Georgia Tech. The winner of the four-team tournament advances to the ITA DI National Men's Team Indoor Championship in Champaign, Illinois from February 17-20.
