MORAGA, California – The #20 Pepperdine men's tennis program earned its second sweep in three West Coast Conference matches this season as the Waves had little trouble with Saint Mary's on Saturday in a 4-0 win at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
Pepperdine (11-5, 3-0 WCC) claimed the doubles point after
Eric Hadigian (Sacramento, Calif.) and
Corrado Summaria (Cosenza, Italy) were victorious on court two, 6-3, and after the Gaels took court three, the number one pair of
Daniel De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) and
Eero Vasa (Turku, Finland) won their match in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (3) to give the Waves a head start with singles on the way.
The Waves coasted in singles, taking five first sets from Saint Mary's (4-12, 2-3 WCC). Hadigian took court five in quick fashion, 6-2, 6-1, while Summaria followed suit by breezing past his opponent on court four, 6-1, 6-2 to give Pepperdine a 3-0 lead.
