SCOUTING THE WAVES
Pepperdine traveled to Oklahoma for two matches last weekend, defeating Oklahoma State 4-2 on Saturday afternoon before falling to Tulsa 4-3 on Sunday. Fellin had the clinch point on Saturday for the Waves. De Jonge leads Pepperdine in singles with a 4-1 record from the one position, while Eero Vasa (Turku, Finland) follows closely behind with a 3-1 singles record playing from the four and five spots. In doubles, Fellin and Rogers pace the Waves with a 4-1 record from the two and three positions.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Arizona State won its first match of the season against Grand Canyon but has since dropped five straight. Three of those losses have come to top-20 opponents in #19 Texas A&M, #5 Texas and #5 Ohio State. Most recently, the Sun Devils dropped a 4-3 decision to WCC-foe San Diego on February 6. Murphy Cassone defeated the top-ranked singles player in the country, August Holmgren, in straight sets one court one. Oregon sports a 3-1 record with wins over Boise State, Weber State and Oklahoma State. The Ducks fell 4-0 to #5 Texas on January 30 and will host Northwestern on February 11 before welcoming Pepperdine.
