#25 Waves Finish Weekend Sweep With Win Over #5 USC

MALIBU, California – On a beautiful Saturday in Malibu where former coach Allen Fox, along with a host of alumni, were honored, the #25 Pepperdine men's tennis program earned a signature win for the second day in a row, taking down #5 USC, 4-2, at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

USC (8-3) struck first in doubles, as the 10th ranked pair of Stefan Dostanic and Bradley Frye took court one, 6-1. After Corrado Summaria (Cosenza, Italy) and Tim Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany) won 6-3 on court three for Pepperdine (5-4), the doubles point came down to court two. The Trojans won 6-4 to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Pepperdine flipped the script in singles, winning five first sets. Summaria earned a ranked win over #40 Lodewijk Weststrate in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 to tie the match up at one. Eric Hadigian (Sacramento, Calif.) gave Pepperdine the lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six over Ryan Colby.

The Trojans earned a point back with a three-set win on court three, but #24 Andrew Rogers (Brentwood, Tenn.) took court four, defeating #122 Bradley Frye 6-4, 7-6 (3). With two courts remaining and one win needed for Pepperdine to clinch the match, #111 Zeitvogel won a straight-set decision over Wojtek Marek 6-2, 7-6 (3) to give the Waves a top-five win and their fourth triumph over a Pac-12 foe this season.
