MALIBU, California – Pepperdine divers will compete in a dive-only meet this weekend, making the trip to Los Angeles for the Trojan Diving Invite.
Meet 9: Friday and Sunday (November 11 and 13) at Uytengsu Aquatic Center in Los Angeles, Calif.: Pepperdine at the Trojan Diving Invite at 11 a.m.
The women's 3-meter competition will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. with the prelims, as the top 18 divers advance to the finals on Friday afternoon. The same schedule applies Sunday for the women's 1-meter event.
The event will not be streamed, but up-to-date results can be found on PepperdineWaves.com through the Meet Central page on the women's swim and dive schedule.
Vivian Vallely (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor HS) swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions last weekend against UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego. The freshman recorded season-high scores of 235.43 on the 1-meter board and 248.10 in the 3-meter competition en route to the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference diver of the week award, her first career weekly honor.
The Waves also finished third in both competitions, as
Amanda Wong (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS) scored 219.45 in the 1-meter and
Bri Cannon (Katy, Texas/Katy HS) took third on the 3-meter board with a 219.53 showing.
After Sunday's competition, Pepperdine swimmers and divers will compete in their final meet of the fall semester from Thursday through Saturday (November 17-19) as the Waves head to St. George, Utah, for the Trailblazer Invite at Utah Tech.
