ST. GEORGE, Utah – It was a freshman-heavy attack once again for the Pepperdine women's swim and dive team on Saturday as the Waves closed their fall semester with a number of impressive performances on day three of the Utah Tech Invitational at the UTU HPC Pool.
MEET RECAP
In the morning prelim session,
Lexi Haymart (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Ponderosa HS) entered the top-10 list at Pepperdine in the 1650 free at fourth with a 17:40.58 showing in the time trials. Fellow freshman
Kylie Taylor (Eugene, Ore./Churchill HS) continued her strong weekend in the 200 back, doing it in 2:03.98 to give her fourth place on the all-time list.
In the nightcap,
AJ Adams (Castle Rock, Colo./Valor Christian HS) put her name in the record books at sixth place for the 200 back with a 2:04.94 showing.
Charli Sunahara (Chino, Calif./Ruben S. Ayala HS), one of the strongest performers for Pepperdine this weekend and this season, cracked the top-10 list in the 200 breast at third a 2:21.19 time and took first place in the "C" final.
The Waves finished the weekend with 59 points, good for ninth place overall.
NEXT UP
Pepperdine will be off until January 12, 2023, when the Waves host Fresno State in a dual meet at 3 p.m. The meet will be streamed live on the WCC Network.
