Broadus and Tjen Named Top-Five Doubles Duo in the Country in Latest ITA Rankings

MALIBU, California – Following a dominant fall season capped by the doubles title at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Fall Championships, Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen have been named the #4 doubles team in the country as part of the ITA individual rankings. Wednesday's announcement is the final rankings until February 8, nearly three weeks into the dual season.

Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) and Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) followed up their All-American 2022 season with a dominant fall. The duo posted a 13-1 record, won the Battle of the Bay doubles title along with the ITA National Fall Championships crown and were finalists at the ITA Southwest Regional. Last season, the pair reached the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship to earn All-American status.

Both were honored in singles as well. Tjen (#12) went 9-1, with her only loss coming in the ITA Southwest Regional. She won the singles title at the Battle of the Bay in September. Broadus (#21) won the ITA Southwest Regional singles title in October and advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA National Fall Championships. She finished the fall with a singles record of 10-2.

Pepperdine is off for the remainder of the fall and will be back in action January 13-15, 2023, at the Freeman Memorial Championship for the last individual tournament before the dual season begins on January 21 at California.
