MALIBU, California –
Daniel De Jonge and
Tim Zeitvogel of the Pepperdine men's tennis team have been recognized in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I rankings that were announced on Wednesday. This is the last set of individual classifications until February 8, 2023, nearly three weeks into the dual season.
#31 De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands), a graduate student, went 4-5 in singles play over the course of the fall, including a round of 32 appearance at the ITA Southwest Regional. Last season, he competed in the first round NCAA Singles Championship.
#94 Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany), another graduate student, had a fall singles record of 7-6. He was an alternate at the ITA National Fall Championships following a run to the semifinals at the ITA Southwest Regional in October. In the quarterfinals of the regional, Zeitvogel defeated #86 Colton Smith in straight sets for his only ranked win of the fall.
Ranked #34 in doubles, the pair burst onto the scene this fall, going 10-5 together through four tournaments. A push to the finals of the ITA Southwest Regional clinched a berth in the ITA National Fall Championships, where the duo advanced to the round of 16. They defeated a pair of top-50 opponents at the ITA All-American Championships en route to the most wins of any Pepperdine pairing this fall.
