Beach Volleyball Signs Maya McNabney to NLI

MALIBU, CALIF. – Head Coach Marcio Sicoli and his staff added Maya McNabney to the Pepperdine beach volleyball team's 2024 roster on Monday afternoon.

"We are happy to sign Maya!" said Sicoli.  "Her energy and passion for volleyball will be the catalyst in helping her learn and play the college game at the highest level.  With her work ethic, she will make an impact her first year."

McNabney, originally from Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, attended Ancaster High School.  While in high school, she earned honor roll recognition, was a member of the Ancaster Athletic Council and competed in numerous sports in addition to volleyball – cross country, water polo, soccer and ultimate frisbee.  She was chosen as an indoor team captain every year at AHS and also received an award of excellence.  Indoor at the club level, she played for MVC, while also playing from Legacy Beach Volleyball, Team Ontario and Northern Elite in the last five years.

"I chose Pepperdine not only because of the great beach program and amazing coaches," said McNabney.  "But also because of the surreal location and academic programs Pepperdine has to offer!"

She is a six-time beach volleyball provincial champion throughout her young career.  McNabney was selected to represent Canada and compete at the International Children's Games (ICG) in Hungary.
