MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program returns home for two more days of competition – its final home meets until January – as the Waves host Loyola Marymount, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego this weekend.
Meet 7: Friday (November 4) at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.: Pepperdine vs. Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m.
Meet 8: Saturday (November 5) at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.: Pepperdine vs. UC Santa Barbara at 11 a.m.
Meet 9: Saturday (November 5) at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.: Pepperdine vs. UC San Diego at 11 a.m.
Friday will be a swim-only meet. Saturday's meet will be a pair of duals, with Pepperdine and UCSB squaring off before the Waves will face UCSD in a separate competition.
Pepperdine dropped a pair of duals to San Jose State and Cal Poly in its last weekend of competition, October 21 and 22. This was the first weekend away from Malibu for the Waves this season.
Last season, Pepperdine defeated PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount 126-98 in Los Angeles. In the spring of 2021, the Waves and Lions met three times – twice in Malibu – with Pepperdine taking both home contests. The Waves and UCSB have only met twice, and not since 1987, with the Gauchos taking both contests. Head coach
Ellie Monobe was an assistant at UCSB before taking the Pepperdine position in August 2020. Volunteer assistant coach
Dan Marella is also a UCSB swim alum. Pepperdine has not faced UCSD since 1991 when the Tritons were affiliated with NCAA Division II.
After Saturday's meet, Pepperdine's divers will head to Los Angeles for the Trojan Diving Invite at USC on Friday and Saturday (November 11-12). The full squad will be back in competition to wrap up the fall slate from Thursday through Saturday (November 17-19) as the Waves head to St. George, Utah, for the Trailblazer Invite at Utah Tech.
