MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's tennis team begins its fall schedule with a trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend for the Knoxville Showdown.
The Waves will compete over the course of three days, playing singles and doubles events each day with three other schools: Columbia, Kentucky, and the host school, Tennessee.
Pepperdine will start the tournament Friday with doubles at 11:00 a.m. PT and singles at 11:30 a.m. PT. Saturday, the Waves will compete in doubles and singles, both starting at 11:00 a.m. PT. The event will wrap up Sunday with the Waves competing in doubles at 7:00 a.m. PT and singles at 7:30 a.m. PT.
Pepperdine will send nine student-athletes to Knoxville for the weekend: six returners and three newcomers making their debut for the Waves.
The Waves return six players from an NCAA Tournament team last season, where they advanced to the second round after defeating UC Santa Barbara in the first round. Four newcomers join the squad this season, as head coach
