WESTLAKE VILLAGE, California – The Pepperdine men's tennis team, fueled by a strong start and a near-perfect singles record, ran through the North Ranch Invite this weekend held at nearby North Ranch Country Club. Four Waves participated the event: Pietro Fellin, Corrado Summaria, Enrique Luque Rico and Eric Hadigian.
 
The event featured three days of doubles and singles events, competing against different teams each day.
 
Overall, the Waves went 11-2 in singles on the weekend. Pepperdine was led by Pietro Fellin (Milan, Italy) and Corrado Summaria (Cosenza, Italy), both of whom went undefeated in singles throughout the event.

"We had some excellent performances in singles," head coach Adam Schaechterle said. "Eric has practiced at an elite level, and that is showing in his results. Pietro and Corrado put together undefeated weekends and are starting to stack successes and gain confidence.

"Our doubles were unacceptable, both in our decision making and our energy level. It's up to us to use this experience as an opportunity to change our approach to doubles moving forward."

Next up for Pepperdine is the ITA Men's All-American Championship held at the University of Tulsa from October 2-10. The Waves will send the entire squad to Oklahoma for the event. Pre-qualifying takes place Saturday and Sunday (October 2-3), qualifying takes place Monday and Tuesday (October 4-5), and the main draw occurs Wednesday through Sunday (October 6-10).
