Doubles Title Highlights Tournament Weekend for Waves

MALIBU, California Daniel De Jonge and Linus Carlsson Halldin claimed the doubles championship at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic to highlight a successful weekend in two tournaments for the Pepperdine men's tennis program. The weekend also included multiple nationally ranked wins and a run to the semifinals in singles.

At the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) and Carlsson Halldin (Stockholm, Sweden) rolled through the doubles field to claim the well-earned title. In singles, De Jonge won his first two matches to run his winning streak to five in singles after a perfect 3-0 record last weekend at the Knoxville Showdown. On Sunday he fell in straight sets to a nationally ranked foe in #119 Lodewijk Weststrate from USC in the semifinals.

In San Francisco at the Battle in the Bay, #125 Tim Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany) had a very productive weekend for the Waves. The senior defeated two ranked opponents, including one ranked #52 nationally, on his way to a quarterfinal appearance before bowing out to eventual singles champion #68 Stefan Dostanic from USC.
