SAN FRANCISCO, California – The Pepperdine women's tennis team completed its first fall tournament in style, rolling through the Battle in the Bay to claim both the singles and doubles championships.
Savannah Broadus (Carrollton, Texas), in her first collegiate tournament, defeated two ranked opponents in her run to the singles title. Broadus and teammate
Anastasia Iamachkine (Lima, Peru) won the doubles title as well, although they had to defeat fellow Waves in the final to do it. The doubles pair of
Lisa Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) and
Nikki Redelijk (Windermere, Fla.) had an equally impressive weekend on their way to a runner-up finish in the doubles competition.
