KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – The Pepperdine men's tennis team completed the Knoxville Showdown on Sunday. The Waves competed against individuals from Columbia for the majority of the day in both singles and doubles.

The day started, as usual this weekend, with the doubles' matchups. The duo of
Linus Carlsson Halldin and
Pietro Fellin took care of Ruger/Gollin 6-3 to claim the first doubles win of the day for the Waves. Next,
Andrew Rogers and #125
Tim Zeitvogel defeated Kotzen/Hashimoto 6-0 for the second doubles win over Columbia.
In singles events, Fellin was the first to take home a victory as well after a 6-0, 7-5 straight-set win over Columbia's Haung.
Eric Hadigian followed that up with another straight-set win, this time a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Winegar. The third Waves win came to Carlsson Halldin after he defeated Templeman, 6-3, 6-2.
Enrique Luque Rico earned a hard-fought three-set win over Tennessee's Shunsuke Mitsui, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. #117
Daniel De Jonge was another three-set winner for the Waves, taking down Columbia's Kotzen 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. #125
Tim Zeitvogel earned the final singles win today for Pepperdine by virtue of a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 win over Ruger.
The Waves will be back in action next weekend, as two individuals will head to Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, while two others travel to San Francisco for the Battle in the Bay. Both events run Friday through Sunday, September 17-19.
