Failla Ends Pepperdine Career in NCAA Round of 16

LAKE NONA, Florida – Graduate senior Jessica Failla of the Pepperdine women's tennis team completed her time in a Waves uniform in the NCAA Singles Tournament on Tuesday morning, falling 6-3, 6-2 to top-seeded Sara Daavettila of North Carolina in the round of 16.

Failla is the 12th Wave to reach the Sweet 16, as well as the 23rd player to become an ITA Singles All-American in Pepperdine women's tennis history.

The graduate senior will depart Malibu with an undergraduate degree as well as two Master's degrees in Dispute Resolution and Legal Studies. Failla's highest career singles ranking came back in March of this season, where the Wave clocked in at #4 in the country.

In the team championship match against Texas, Failla became the first Pepperdine women's tennis player to win a finals match in program history.
