TEMPE, Ariz. – The 22^nd-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team fell to Arizona State 6-1 on Friday afternoon. The shorthanded Waves were without three members of the squad and could not overcome the Sun Devils in Tempe.

RECAP
The Waves earned a win early on in doubles play, as Adrian Oetzbach and Guy Den Ouden defeated the ASU pair of Ruehl and Bolla on court one 6-4. The Sun Devils eventually took the doubles point after wins on courts two and three.

In singles, freshman phenom Den Ouden won the Waves' lone point on the afternoon, but not without a fight. Den Ouden took a 6-4 win in the first set but faltered 3-6 in the second to force a tie break of a third set. In that, however, Den Ouden defeated ASU's Rakotomalala 10-3 in the tie-breaking round for his first win in a Waves uniform.
