MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's tennis team returned home for their first home match of the season and corralled Cal Poly 4-3 at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

RECAP
The Waves earned their first doubles point of the season after
Robert Shelton and
Corrado Summaria defeated Cal Poly's Noel and Berry 6-3
. Pietro Fellin and
Daniel De Jonge clinched the doubles point on three, going 6-4 over Stater and Vardanyan.
In singles, Pepperdine faltered on court two but
Pawel Jankowiak snatched his first win of the season in a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Carter Crookston on court six to put the Waves back in the lead.
Shelton followed suit, drubbing Gary Vardanyan 6-3, 6-1 to put Pepperdine in reach of the clinch point at 3-1 overall. It was Summaria who grew tired of entertaining Cal Poly's Joe Leather and earned the clinch point at 6-2, 6-4 on court three.
All matches were played to completion, where
Adrian Oeztbach and Fellin went to a third-set tie break but eventually fell, putting the final score at 4-3 in favor of the Waves.
