SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Pietro Fellin and Lisa Zaar of the Pepperdine men's and women's tennis programs had strong showings on Friday at the Barnes Tennis Center, with both collecting multiple straight-set, ranked wins to advance to Saturday's semifinals.

Fellin (Milan, Italy) defeated the #105 and #21 nationally ranked players in consecutive outings.

Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) reached the women's consolation semifinal, which will also be played on Saturday, by defeating the #31 and #29 ranked singles players in America.

The doubles pair of Zaar and Victoria Flores (Fort Dodge, Iowa) won on Friday night in straight sets to advance to Saturday's main draw quarterfinal.
