Women's Swim and Dive Prepares for Trailblazer Invite

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team heads to Utah for its second invitational of the season, competing in the Trailblazer Invite this weekend at Dixie State University.
 
Meet 6: Thursday through Saturday (November 18-20) at DSU HPC Pool in St. George, Utah: Pepperdine at Trailblazer Invite at 9:00 a.m/4:00 p.m. PT
 
The Waves defeated conference foe Loyola Marymount in a dual meet on November 6 by a score of 126-98, their first dual win of the season. Pepperdine won six events in the meet – four individual events and two relays.
 
Following the meet, Olivia Kayye (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill HS) was named the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Swimmer of the Week. Kayye took first place in four events in the Waves' victory. The senior took home individual wins in the 500 free (5:17.60) and the 100 breast (1:07.20), and relay wins in the 200-medley relay (1:50.01) and the 200 free relay (24.94 split). Her time for the 100 breast is the top time in the PCSC. This was Kayye's first weekly honor this season.
 
Qualifying in St. George will start at 9:00 a.m. PT each day, with the finals taking place at 4:00 p.m. PT.
 
This is the Waves' final event of the semester. They'll be off until a meet at San Diego State on January 8.
