Taisiya Pachkaleva continued her dominance at the ITA All-American Championships with another straight-set win in the main draw quarterfinals.
Pachkaleva defeated #18 Salma Ewing from USC to claim her spot among the final four. She will take on South Carolina's Sarah Hamner on Saturday for a trip to the final.
The Waves had an undefeated day in Charleston on Friday, as
Shiori Fukuda (Tokyo, Japan) and
Victoria Flores (Fort Dodge, Iowa) were once again victorious in the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket, defeating the #85 and #28 singles players in the country, respectively. One more win for each of them and the consolation final will be an all-Pepperdine showdown between the two.
In doubles, Flores and
Janice Tjen (Jakarta, Indonesia) won a three-set thriller in the quarterfinal over Texas A&M's Goldsmith and Makarova, the #3-ranked doubles pair in the country. In the consolation quarterfinal, Fukuda and Pachkaleva (Moscow, Russia) took down #5 Adeshina/Kuczer from Tennessee in straight sets.
