SAN DIEGO, Calif. –
Lisa Zaar of the Pepperdine women's tennis program, ranked #53 nationally, defeated UCLA's Sasha Vagramov in straight sets on Saturday to advance to the semifinal round in singles at the ITA Southwest Regional.
Zaar (Stockholm, Sweden) will compete twice on Sunday – once in the singles semifinal and once in the doubles semifinal with
Victoria Flores (Fort Dodge, Iowa). Pepperdine's doubles team of
Savannah Broadus and
Janice Tjen also reached the semifinals. If both advance, the doubles final would be an all-Pepperdine championship.
