Pepperdine Athletics Announces Changes to Home Events

MALIBU, California – At this time, Pepperdine University Athletics teams will continue to play scheduled athletics events, but will implement attendance restrictions at home games from now through the end of March in response to developments related to the coronavirus.

Earlier today, the University made the decision to end in-person classes and transition to online classes for the remainder of the semester. As the well-being of all of our students, including our student-athletes, is paramount, the following changes will be made at home athletic events:
  • Fans will not be permitted to attend, with the exception of two family members per student-athlete and coaches for both the home and visiting teams.
  • Beyond that, only the participating student-athletes, coaches, game officials, essential game operations and administrative staff, and credentialed media will be allowed in the venue.
These restrictions will begin with tonight's men's volleyball match against Jamestown.

Although fans will not be able to attend, the vast majority of these events will be streamed online via WaveCasts, the WCC Network or PlaySight. Links to these broadcasts can be found at PepperdineWaves.com.

Official Pepperdine University updates can be found at pepperdine.edu/coronavirus. The University and the Department of Athletics will continue to monitor the situation and provide any additional updates as necessary.
